Humans long ago lived in the sea, but some defied the Sea God and moved to the land creating the division between the Sea Village, Shioshishio, and the Land Village, Oshiooshi. Now four Sea Village middle school students, Manaka Mukaido, Hikari Sakishima, Chisaki Hiradaira, and Kaname Isaki will attend Mihama Middle School on the surface. Adjusting to their new lives, these four and their new surface friend, Tsumugu Kihara, learn how bonds of love and friendship can help overcome any problems that they’ll experience.
